Batching social media for many of us can be a pain in the behind. It’s time consuming and often leaves us feeling like the ever hungry content beast is never satisfied. However, there is a way to make it much easier and manageable.
Find out what works
In order to easily “batch” content, you will first need to identify content that works best for your business. Invest some in doing some research, this way you'll save time by creating content that your target market specifically likes.
Have a Brain Dump Day
On this day, brainstorm topics, questions, images, and other interactive ideas that can educate and add value to the lives of your audience. Don't limit yourself and put everything you can think of on your blank piece of paper. Let the creativity flow, as you never know if you can use these ideas later!
Set Goals and Quality Standards
It can be easy to feel overwhelmed when creating content topics but set a number of content pieces you will want to create in a set amount of time and work within those limits. For instance, when it comes to writing my blog posts, I aim to create at least 2 a month. This works well for me and my schedule. Do not try to imitate how often other people create content, focus on your quality and schedule!
Create a Content Plan
Your content plan is more than an editorial calendar. The goal isn’t for you to just come up with a list of 12 ideas and check it off, but for you to look strategically at what’s happening during a set time period and plan your content accordingly.
In order to create your ideal content plane, take time to answer the following questions:
What am I selling or promoting?
What do people need to learn from me?
What does my brand stand for?
What inspires my audience ?
What are the steps needed for my audience to understand my products or service enough to purchase.
Your content is meant to support your business goals and is the key part in your customers journey to discovering the value you can offer them. In other words it's the thing that helps create the know, like and trust factor for your business .
Be Authentic
It’s tempting to copy what others are doing and hear what I am saying, there is nothing wrong with being inspired. We should always be challenging ourselves to learn new things and if what someone else is doing is working then we can be mentored by them through observation. However, nothing beats, being true to yourself and your message.
So be do your research, set goals, be yourself and use these steps to start batching your social skills effectively and save heaps of time so you can focus on what you need to today.
