ABOUT ME

I’ve always wanted to start a business; the problem was I didn’t know what kind.

After I graduated from university with a degree in Financial Services and gained some work experience, I knew this was not where I wanted to spend my entire career.

I wanted to create something new and break ground by stepping out on my own and working on my terms.

So I began the journey of searching for a business idea that would help me do just that. After analysing lists of work from home options, Virtual Assistance resonated with my talents and current experience the most.

I bought a book on how to get started as a VA, but I became overwhelmed with the details, so I shelved it and moved on to something that felt easier.

After that, I dabbled in network marketing for a couple of years, but that still didn’t give me the balance I needed to do the things that I wanted.

I am passionate about investing in the next generation, so the opportunity arose to help create and run a leadership development course five years ago with my Church. I jumped in headfirst.

Leadership development is my passion, and I still run the course voluntarily today. I learnt how to run virtual classes, create course content and manage two student intakes simultaneously. I also discovered that I have a knack for teaching and that I am a communicator at heart.

Towards the end of 2018, I started to feel the entrepreneurial itch again. I felt unfilled because I wasn’t doing what I was passionate about, being involved in and contributing to the business community.

The fact that I was in a mess financially with debt and lack of savings also gave me the added motivation to walk back to the shelf and pick up the old business idea I shelved seven years prior.

I knew I had to take massive action so, after the second round of research, I decided to put my money where my mouth was and bought a course on how to become a Virtual Assistant in 30 days.

I locked myself in the house with this course, and about 21 days later, Luipa Virtual Solutions was born. It’s been an incredible journey so far, but I am excited about the future of this business and the impact that it will have.
